Charity addresses today's needs. Empowerment changes tomorrow's story. Lighthouse Humanitarian Aid Ghana's Youth and Women Empowerment program is built on the belief that the most transformative investment we can make is in the economic agency and self-sufficiency of women and young people.

Since 2022, we have provided vocational skills training to hundreds of widows, young women, and unemployed youth across Ghana — equipping them with practical, marketable skills in areas including soap and detergent making, fashion design and sewing, hairdressing and beauty services, tie-dye and fabric design, catering and food processing, and small business management.

Our training programs run over several weeks and combine hands-on skills instruction with business literacy, financial management, and entrepreneurship coaching. Graduates receive starter toolkits to help them launch their own micro-enterprises, breaking the dependency cycle and building genuine self-sufficiency.

We pay particular attention to widows, who face compounded social and economic vulnerability following the loss of their husbands. Our skills training gives them not just income — but confidence, community, and a restored sense of purpose.

For young people, our youth empowerment initiatives provide mentorship, career guidance, and pathways into both entrepreneurship and formal employment — investing in a generation that will shape the future of their communities.
