Education Support

Education should be the great equalizer — but in many parts of Ghana, the barriers to schooling are steep and relentless. School fees, uniforms, textbooks, and the opportunity cost of a child's labor all conspire to keep vulnerable children out of classrooms and trapped in cycles of poverty.

Lighthouse Humanitarian Aid Ghana's Education Support program attacks these barriers directly. Since 2022, we have provided scholarships, learning materials, school uniforms, and infrastructure contributions to schools serving underserved communities — particularly focusing on girls, whose access to education remains disproportionately threatened.

Our Education Support work has three pillars: direct scholarships for children at risk of dropping out; material support including textbooks, stationery, bags, and uniforms; and infrastructure investment in school facilities including furniture, sanitation, and classroom rehabilitation.

We also run educational workshops on reproductive health, children's rights, and personal safety — equipping young people with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and advocate for their futures.
