Food Distribution

Food insecurity is not an abstraction. It is a mother rationing the last cup of rice. A child who cannot concentrate in school because of hunger. An elderly person surviving on one meal a day. Lighthouse Humanitarian Aid Ghana's Food Distribution program exists to fill that gap — with dignity, regularity, and compassion.

Since 2022, we have organized regular food distributions reaching thousands of individuals across vulnerable communities in Ghana. Our distribution packs are carefully assembled to provide balanced, culturally appropriate nutrition — including staple grains, legumes, oil, and protein sources — ensuring that recipients receive not just calories, but nourishment.

Our distributions prioritize the most vulnerable: orphanages, households headed by widows, the elderly, people with disabilities, and families displaced by flooding or other crises. We work through a network of verified community liaisons who help identify households most in need and facilitate dignified, organized distributions.

During Ramadan, we run special Iftaar food programs to support Muslim families and communities in breaking their fast with wholesome, sufficient food — a celebration that crosses religious and community lines and brings people together.
